Sanlitun Bar Street: the best place to party in Beijing
Planning to have some fun near your hotel in Beijing? Getting ready to spread yourself? Wanting unique party experience to juice up your Beijing stay?
Then visit Sanlitun Street-the best place to pull in Beijing-with top bars, cafes, nightclubs and restaurants the city can possibly offer.
The Beijing Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps, soccer star Renaldhino, and movie star Vince Vaughn were among the many celebrities to enjoy themselves at the bars here.
The street, better known as ‘Sanlitun Bar Street,’ lies in the famous embassy area near Beijing’s east 3rd Ring Road. Every day from afternoon till late night, this bar street is overflowing with foreign tourists, expats, and locals who have excess energy to burn.
The street consists of two parts: Sanlitun North and Sanlitun South. Sanlitun North is where most bars are located, where you could rock until early morning. It’s not far fromthe 4 star Beijing Taiyue Suites Hotel.
The north street plays host to several dozen bars, most of which have tables outside where you can sit for a drink. The treat can be delightful even in Beijing’s baking summer, as the dense leaves of trees keep you out of the sun and offer you only cool shade.
To cater to an increasing number of international customers, most of the bars offer liquor and beer from around the world, anything from IPAs to Glenfiddich. Some lesser-known brands from your hometown can even be found here!
In spite of this option, many international customers fall in love with local draft beers such as Yanjing and Tsingdao, which are delectable and uplifting by anyone’s taste. They sell at about 25 RMB (slightly over $3 US), a little expensive by Beijing standards, but still cheaper than back home.
Another good spot for cheap drinksis the bar at the Beijing Avic hotel.
At night, many bars stage live band performances, which soon bring the party to its climax. Party goers wiggle to the hip beats the band play, bartenders work on exhibition flair, and waitresses weave in and out of the crowds to serve your beers. The spirit might be slightly different from that back home, but at this point in the night, who cares!
Of course, for customers who want to keep thing quiet and have conversations with friends, bars hidden in the alleyways are the right place to go. The ambience can be cozy and lovely.
You may have a quick dinner here for most bars serve salad, spaghetti, hamburgers, soup and other food. Otherwise, just go to Sanlitun South for a formal meal.
Sanlitun South gathers some of Beijing’s best restaurants for south Asian cuisines. A considerable number of ambassadors and diplomats are among the regular customers.
Ok, now you know the street, and you are ready to have a great wining & dining experience while in Beijing. So here is a little piece of advice: don’t have so much fun that you miss your Great Wall tour the next morning, or drink so much that you can’t get back to your Beijing hotel!
