2 main sects of hindu gods

In Hinduism, basically there are 2 main sects, there being many minor sects as well although there are a myriad of Gods and Goddesses. There is one sect who worship Vishnu . Another sect belongs to those who worship Shiva and his family, Ganesh, Murugan or one of Shiva’s consorts. For those who worship Vishnu or his associated avatars, Lord Vishnu is the original and supreme God. There are 10 incarnations of Vishnu, the next one being Kalki will appear at the end of Kali Yuga who is “The Destroyer of foulness”. It is claimed the 9th incarnation was actually Lord Buddha. However the most popular are Lord Rama and Krisna.Rama is the 7th incarnation of Vishnu. The supreme Brahman who is the eternally blissful spiritual Self in whom yogis aspire is the simpl mean of the name Rama. Despite hardship and personal travails,Rama’s strict adherence of satya (truth) and dharma personifies the characteristics of an ideal person who is to be emulated. Rama’s purity and piety in his intentions and actions inspires truth and devotion. Hanuman directed all his energies towards the worship and aid of Lord Rama, and his unlimited thunderbolt strength and devotion made him as a symbol of physical strength, perseverance and devotion.
Krisna is seen as the Supreme Person and the highest God and is the origin of all other incarnations who is the eighth avatar of Vishnu. Lord Krisna is the Hindu God of love and devotion and is frequently shown playing the flute. The wife of Vishnu is the 4 armed Lakshmi who is the Hindu Mother Goddess of Light, Wisdom, Abundance, Wealth and good Fortune. She is most compassionate and especially kind to children. Lord Vishnu is the Hindu God of Preserving the Universe. People consider him as the Supreme Being or ultimate reality. Together with his
consort, Lakshmi make an auspicious couple. Vishnu possesses six divine glories:Omniscient; Sovereignty; Shakti Energy, or power; Strength; Vigour; and Resplendent.
